By 2046, South East Queensland will be home to six million people. Feeding this growing population means addressing challenges such as climate variability, extreme weather, global events, and the demands of millions of visitors each year. Agriculture is one of the region’s economic strengths, and this forum will explore how we can build a resilient, productive and sustainable food system for the future.
Co-hosted by FAN and CSIRO, the Forum will bring together farmers, food producers, organisations and businesses from across SEQ. The event will support conversations about local needs, aspirations and opportunities to inform the SEQ Food Systems Strategy, a six-month collaboration between councils, government agencies, researchers, and industry groups.
The session will encourage open dialogue on how local voices can be reflected in shaping a disruption-ready food system that supports our region’s economic and social prosperity.
