Sunshine Coast Council’s Buy Local Day campaign is back for 2026, encouraging the community to support independent local businesses across the region in the lead-up to Buy Local Day on Saturday 27 June 2026.

The campaign provides businesses with a range of practical promotional tools and opportunities to help increase visibility and community engagement. Businesses can access a free media kit including social media assets, signage and ready-to-use promotional content, as well as register activations or events to be featured as part of the wider regional campaign.

As part of this year’s campaign, businesses are also invited to create and share a short Buy Local Day video for the chance to win a marketing support package valued at $5,000. The package includes a personalised marketing and growth strategy, professional marketing assets and three months of implementation support and training.

The campaign is open to businesses across sectors, including food, beverage, agribusiness, retail, hospitality and tourism operators. Suggested activations include tastings, meet-the-maker events, workshops, entertainment and collaborative promotions with neighbouring businesses.
