Pick of the Crop – Connecting Schools to Fresh, Local Produce

Pick of the Crop is a Queensland Government initiative delivered by Health and Wellbeing Queensland that helps primary schools encourage healthier eating through increased access to and awareness of fresh fruits and vegetables.

The program supports schools with resources and funding to implement activities such as farm excursions, school gardens, cooking classes, and curriculum-based learning that connects children directly to where food comes from.

It also presents an opportunity for local producers and food businesses to engage with schools and promote seasonal produce, health education, and community connections.
