FAN 2022 AGM & Annual Report

FAN 2022 AGM & Annual Report

To our valued FAN Community,

Last week, we were pleased to share an overview and highlights of FAN’s operations in 2021 – 2022 at our Annual General Meeting.  With thanks to our members in attendance and those who submitted proxies. We are pleased to confirm that all items as listed in the agenda were passed in full favour.

View our 2022 Annual Report and read a full recap contained in the Chair and CEO’s Report.

We also thanked and farewelled retiring Board Member Dave Cohen and welcomed the newest member of the Board Jeanette Jifkins. Below is a short introduction to Jeanette.

In acknowledgment and recognition of members who have contributed to the evolution and growth of FAN and represent the organisation’s ethos of giving back and fostering innovation and collaboration – this year we commenced a new tradition of conferring lifetime memberships (please read below).

We also paid tribute and thanked Emma Greenhatch our outgoing CEO, for her contribution to FAN. In wrapping up, our interim CEO Nicole McNaughton presented a Taste of Things to Come in 2023 – including details of Meet the Makers 2023 (save the date below). We look forward to sharing more details on these activities in the new year.

It has been an honour to lead FAN this year. Thank you to our committed team, and to our members, sponsors and partners for their continued support.

Together, we are driving success for our industry through the power of collaboration.

L-R Sandra Gosling, Jacqui Price and Henry Gosling

COYO joined FAN in 2018 and have been a true inspiration to not only our team but many members and our wider industry. Henry and Sandra Gosling have graciously mentored many FAN members over the years and truly represent our foundational ethos of ‘giving back’. Their mentorship has inspired and guided the next generation of innovators in our local industry. They have opened their doors for FAN events and been a valuable sounding board for the team. Henry and Sandra many thanks for your continued contribution and support of FAN.

L-R Kevin Fraikin, Jacqui Price and Sean McGowan

Montville Coffee also joined FAN in 2018 and have been valued, active and engaged members ever since. Sean McGowan’s contribution to our Board has been invaluable as has Kevin Fraikin’s recent participation and active involvement in the Sunshine Coast Regional Action Planning Process. Karen Barnett has graciously continued to share her calm, insightful and truly inspiring wisdom with our network – most recently at Meet the Female Makers – proving to be the stand out hit at the event. Thanks to Montville Coffee for your continued support of FAN and our collaborative ecosystem.

L-R Megan Brabant and Jacqui Price

Gourmet Garden was a founding member of FAN and whose guidance truly defined the ethos of our larger members ‘giving back’ to help grow the tide of our local industry and foster a culture of innovation through collaboration. Megan Brabant, representing Gourmet Garden, has whole heartedly embraced this ethos not only through her service to our Board and team – but through initiatives with our members. This year Megan, and her team presented a highly engaging Member Ideation Session and presentation to local schools.  Many thanks to Megan and the team for your contribution to FAN.
