Dear FAN Members, Partners & Supporters,

Connecting with many of our members over recent weeks, we’re hearing the fatigue and continuing to see how hard running a business is right now. In some cases it’s become too much, like Phat Belli Farm – we’re going to miss your beautiful eggs Paul.

We understand that when times are tough, people’s worlds typically become smaller. But know that you are surrounded by a community that cares and is ready and willing to lend a hand. I encourage you to reach out to someone who you haven’t spoken to in a while, that can make all the difference.

For FAN to continue to deliver a positive impact for our members, industry and regions, it’s vital that we evolve with your needs and aspirations. We’re planning out our 2022 and we’d really appreciate 5 minutes of your time to share with us what’s important to you and how you’d like to be involved and contribute. CLICK HERE.

Take care,

Emma

A Special Tribute to Michael Joyce
Mighty Bean Soyfoods

We were very saddened to learn of the recent passing of Michael Joyce – Founder of Mighty Bean Soyfoods. Our deepest condolences to Michael’s family and everyone whose lives he touched. Michael was a true pioneer, and his passion for his business and community was inspirational.

From Mighty Bean Soyfoods
It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr Michael Joyce (1952-2022). Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Michael contributed greatly to the Sunshine Coast community and will be sadly missed. Born and raised in Bardon Brisbane his family holiday home at Moffat Beach saw him become one of the original 9 surfing Moffateers of Caloundra. Sparking a love for the ocean and adventure he surfed his way through France, Portugal and Morocco in 1972 in a split screen Kombi. He and his wife Julie started one of the first Surf Shops on the coast “Premo Pants” on Ocean Street in Maroochydore in 1974. He went on to become Master Tempeh Maker at Mighty Bean Soyfoods for almost 40 years in which time he made many connections and was of great service to the community.
