It’s been another busy and exciting month for the FAN team! The highlight was undoubtedly the culmination of the Grow National program, with eight of our amazing members proudly showcasing their products under the Queensland Sunshine Pantry stand at Fine Food Australia.
We’ve also been on the road, representing our members, industry, and region at Queensland Manufacturing Month at Parliament House and a recent Qantas and Jetstar Regional Industry Leaders roundtable. We also announced an exciting new partnership with FaBA, opening up even more opportunities for our members.
At FAN, we seize every opportunity to show up and shine a spotlight on the passion and resilience of outstanding members in our FANtastic community.
There’s lots coming up – so please grab a cuppa and enjoy this month’s FANMail.

Out & About

FAN on Tour: Discovering Agritourism in the Scenic Rim
The Food & Agribusiness Network recently embarked on a two-day Agritourism Familiarisation adventure to the stunning Scenic Rim region. With a thoughtfully curated itinerary by the award-winning Creative Tours and support from the Sunshine Coast Council, this trip offered the perfect mix of learning and enjoyment.
Over the two days, participants—including friends from Sunshine & Sons, Canefields Distilling, Glasshouse Plantation, and Maleny Cheese—had the chance to engage with local farmers, producers, and artisans. It was an opportunity to see their innovative practices in action and experience the region’s rich farm-to-table offerings.
The adventure began with visits to some of the Scenic Rim’s most fascinating locations, such as Summerland Camels, the Scenic Rim Farm Shop, and the Scenic Rim Brewery. The first day concluded with a delightful dinner at Cedar Glen Farmstay, where local chef Sinead served up a menu showcasing the best of locally sourced produce.
Day two continued the exploration with a visit to Towri Sheep Cheeses, a strategic visit to the Tamborine Mountain tourist village shops and a final stop at Tamborine Mountain Distillery. Each destination offered its own unique insights into the region’s agritourism offerings, from artisanal cheese-making to distilling.
This tour provided a valuable opportunity for participants to connect with fellow industry professionals, exchange ideas on agritourism development, and discover the hidden gems that make the Scenic Rim a standout destination.
A special thanks to Cat Lowe, Project Lead – Economic Development, Sunshine Coast Council and Josh from Creative Tours for making this adventure a truly enriching experience.
