FAN News

Domestic and Export Programs – round 2 coming soon
We’re pleased to share that the second rounds of our Domestic and Export programs will be staged again in July and August. The aim of both programs is to support members to build capacity and access new domestic and export channels and markets. The comprehensive programs will consist of a masterclass, online workshops and mentoring. Dates and details to be released soon and if you would like more details register your interest HERE
AgTech farm trail – coming soon
FAN recently secured a grant to support a producer uptake technology program through AgriFutures Australia. Working together with our members, we plan to shape an AgTech farm trail – to be staged in November as part of AgTech month. The program and event aims to support producers to build their knowledge, capacity and confidence to better utilise and embrace technology. Backing Queensland Business Investment Fund
The Business Investment Fund (BIF) has been created to support established small and medium businesses innovate, realise their potential, and promote job creation in Queensland. The BIF is partnering with growing Queensland companies to take the next big step in their business, create strong investment returns, and support the future of the Queensland economy.

Queensland Business Grants – timings
Business Growth (up to $50,000) – now open
Business Basics (up to $5,000) – opens 31 May
Business Boost (up to $15,000) – opens mid July 
Closing dates for these grants vary or are until funds are exhausted – so get in quick!

IAgeWell Lifestyle 55+ Expo offer for FAN members

The IAgeWell Expo invites FAN members to exhibit at the upcoming expo on Thursday 5 August – with a special price of $250 per stand. The expo will cover a wide range of exhibits, workshops, entertainment along with great food. FIND OUT MORE HERE.


ASPIRE platform

ASPIRE is an active online matchmaking tool that makes it easier for businesses to connect and exchange waste as a resource. Your business can list unwanted or surplus materials or products that get matched with businesses seeking them.  Sunshine Coast Council and Moreton Bay Regional Council have partnered with ASPIRE, making the program free for businesses with less than 100 employees. Register for ASPIRE here. Businesses on the Sunshine Coast can contact local project support, Chad Buxton and in Moreton Bay contact Sorita McGrane at Moreton Bay Regional Council. 


Rural Financial Counselling Service Southern Queensland

This service offers a free, impartial, confidential program for primary producers and small business owners who have identified a financial challenge and are willing to consider options and put plans in place to deal with the issue. USC launches short business courses

USC has launched a series of Business Courses. The TE-Courses combine theory and experience to deliver highly practical content over a series of three bite-sized modules. Participants will be coached through a range of strategies to help you successfully reach your workplace goals. FIND OUT MORE HERE. 

TIQ E-commerce workshops

TIQ is delivering a series of e-commerce capability workshops to assist SME exporters with e-commerce uptake with a global focus. The workshop topics are: E-commerce business model canvas – your strategic blueprint  2-Jun-21  (online). Choosing the right e-commerce platforms for your business – a deep dive  15-Jun-21 (online). BrewLab tour

The Queensland Government’s BrewLab is holding open days for South East Queensland brewers on Thursday, 10th June and Thursday, 22nd July. The first open day will focus on Beer Chemistry and Microbiology while the second open day will centre on Sensory Skills and Flavour Taint Identification. Combined Chambers networking event – June 10

We’re teaming up with Chambers from across the Sunshine Coast to support another HUGE Combined Chamber Networking Night! Caloundra City Private School – Thursday, June 10 – 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM. BOOK HERE.


Beverage packaging course

New cold store opening

Congratulations to the team at Sunshine Coast Cold Stores on the opening of their new state of the art facility. The new facility located in Chevallum can house more than 2000 racked frozen pallets and offers refrigerated pick-up and delivery services around the Sunshine Coast. READ MORE HERE.


Brouhaha new brewery

Exciting news from Brouhaha Brewery on the announcement of plans for a new brewery. Their new brewery, to be located in Aura Business Park at Bells Creek, will be in a custom-designed building with a state-of-the-art brew kit that will cater for the growing demand for Brouhaha’s premium beverages. READ MORE HERE.

There was a great showing for a number of our producers at the recent Royal Queensland Dairy Awards.
